Familiar Chaos
The wind has been relentless today, a force untamed, and a familiar chaos that I’ve found comfort in.
The ways in which life and nature mimic one another astound me. The elements are so unpredictable, and still you can always rely on them to do what they were designed to do.
And that’s life.
No matter how much you plan, no matter how much you attempt to design your life around this thing or that, there’s always the unpredictable nature of things that you can rely on to come in and change so much about life itself, and you have no choice but to just—go with it…
There are lessons in the chaos. Lessons in the storm.
A tree cannot decide to bend to the left when the wind is blowing it to the right. It just isn’t the way that nature works.
And even if it breaks, the tree remains a part of nature.
I’ve grown to love the unpredictable, yet reliable, ways of nature. Because even though we never know exactly what nature may throw our way, we know to expect something.
And that’s life.
